Leveraging Network Effects: University of Houston’s Strategic Approach to Peer Tutoring
The University of Houston partnered with Knack to scale peer tutoring for over 30,000 undergraduates, first expanding across all courses before strategically refocusing on 22 high-DFW subjects. That expansion sparked powerful network effects, driving a 639% increase in sessions within those courses and sustaining engagement even after narrowing the scope. By leveraging this momentum, UH built a self-sustaining model of peer support that continues to meet student needs and strengthen outcomes across campus.
